CELESTE CHRISTIENSEN, LMBT

Originally a native of Charlotte, I have returned back to my hometown after 7 years of living in Southern California and abroad. Realizing my interest in alternative and natural health, I left a professional position with a Fortune 500 Company in downtown Los Angeles and moved to San Diego to attend one of the most established and respected massage colleges in the country. While there, I earned my National Certification as a Massage Therapist, majoring in Western Studies. I then continued with advanced levels of education to obtain my Holistic Health Practitioner Certification, an elite level of knowledge that requires more than double the national standards for licensure in massage therapy.

Following completion of my massage education, I set sail for a year living and performing therapeutic massage on one of the largest yachts in the world. After traveling throughout the Caribbean, New England and the Western Mediterranean, I was ready to come back to the States and focus heavily on advancing my skills and knowledge in massage therapy. Returning to California, I gained substantial experience in various sectors of massage – from pain management clinics to private hospitals to world-class resorts and spas.

While dedicated to all things massage, I have found that my true passion revolves around the world of pregnancy massage and Asian-inspired barefoot therapy. These two modalities represent opposite ends of the massage spectrum, which in turn help to bring balance and creativity into my career and work. I offer several forms of massage, some of which I have traveled extensively to train with the original founders and developers of the technique.

All of this has brought me to the here-and-now, so enthusiastic about bringing my skills and abilities back to the place that I have always so happily called “home”. In 2008, I founded The East|West Center for Wellness with the purpose of serving clients in a compassionate, healing space through a collaboration of health professionals consisting of Naturopathic Medicine, Psychology Counseling, Holistic Acupuncture and Massage Therapy. I look forward to advancing my education and accomplishments as I continue to grow in the health and wellness field.
